The Richmond Pinball Collective (RPC) is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone. This Code of Conduct applies to all members, guests, volunteers, league players, tournament participants, tournament directors, and visitors while on RPC premises or participating in RPC events.
By entering RPC or participating in RPC activities, you agree to follow these guidelines.
Our values
RPC strives to be:
- Inclusive and welcoming to people of all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels
- A safe and respectful space
- Community-focused and volunteer-driven
- Fun, friendly, and supportive of learning and competition
Expected behavior
We ask everyone to:
- Treat others with respect, kindness, and courtesy
- Be mindful of language and behavior in a shared public space
- Respect differences in identity, background, skill level, and experience
- Follow posted rules, staff/volunteer instructions, and safety guidance
- Handle games and equipment responsibly and respectfully.
Respect the building, tools, property, and volunteer time that make RPC possible
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are not permitted at RPC events or on RPC property:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind (including but not limited to race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or appearance)
- Sexual harassment or unwanted physical contact
- Aggressive, threatening, or abusive behavior (verbal or physical)
- Excessive intoxication that disrupts others or creates safety concerns
- Hate speech, slurs, or demeaning language
- Bullying, stalking, or persistent unwanted attention
- Deliberate damage to games, equipment, or the facility
- Theft or misuse of RPC property, the property of members or of those who loan games/equipment
- Interfering with any front desk or TD duties unless assistance is implicit, accepted, or requested.
- Disregarding safety instructions or board/volunteer direction
You don’t need to intend harm for behavior to be harmful. Impact matters.
Guests and respoinsibility
Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests. Guests who violate this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave and may lose future access to RPC.

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to report it.
You may speak directly to:
- An RPC board member
- A volunteer on duty
- A tournament director (during events)

Reports will be taken seriously and handled as discreetly as possible.

RPC leadership reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations, including but not limited to:
- Verbal warning
- Request to leave for the day
- Temporary suspension of membership or event access
- Permanent revocation of membership
- Banning from future events and/or from the club permanently
non-retaliation
The Richmond Pinball Collective strictly prohibits retaliation against any person who, in good faith:
- Reports a concern or potential violation of the Code of Conduct
- Seeks help from a Volunteer on Duty, board member, or event staff
- Participates in an investigation or follow-up regarding a reported issue
Retaliation includes, but is not limited to, intimidation, harassment, threats, exclusion, or adverse treatment related to a report or cooperation.
Anyone found to have engaged in retaliation may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or permanent revocation of membership.

The Richmond Pinball Collective designates a Volunteer on Duty (VoD) during open hours and events to help ensure the safety, well-being, and smooth operation of the space.
The VoD is authorized to make real-time decisions in the best interest of RPC, its members, guests, volunteers, and the Board of Directors.
